I'm still in the process of doing a auto to 4 speed swap. The clutch pedal rod I have is 14 3/4" and is too long. I am going to attach a picture, I'm not sure what this rod goes too.

Is it possible to cut down a rod to the correct length and weld and reinforce it? I have a 1969 coronet 383 11" bell housing..

that is not the correct part. the one you need will have threads on one end. so even cutting it won't do the trick

Also try elitevintageauto.com Joe has tons of 4 speed stuff he builds and sells 4 speed conversion kits rebuilt rears and other go fast stuff wilwood dealer also . Give him a try if you come up short I've used him a lot great guy good prices too. Good luck

You are thinking of the clutch fork rod. This is the clutch pedal rod that goes from the clutch pedal to the Z-bar, and is not adjustable. Do not cut/weld this rod, adjust the Z-bar arm position instead. You can also get exactly correct parts from Brewers too.

IMO, you really need to use the right parts in your conversion. The pedal rod knockout in the firewall is made for the stock components. The frame side pivot bracket placed properly will ensure correct fit between the pedal, pedal rod, and bell-crank (z-bar). It will also aid in the engine placement in the vehicle.

Avoid the rods from Classic Industries. The one I bought from them for my conversion had the wrong angle on the ends. Got a correct Mopar one from Passon Performance.

Clutch pedal linkage correct parts is very important for operation that you will be satisfied with. You can jury rig parts that will fit together, but they will be a PITA ! Go to Brewer Peformance web site and look at their on-line catalog . Pictures of all the different parts and what those parts fit. I cant praise Brewers enough -- tech help is un beatable.................MO
