Don't know how anyone drinks that stuff... stole a swig of my Father's coffee when I was about 8 and haven't touch another since.
You tea-lovin****. My dad told me only real men drink black coffee, always have! Imagine my surprise years later watching him put milk& sugar in his. Tried sugar once, about threw up. Course he also told me green beans would grow hair on the bottom of your feet; hasn't worked yet but I still love 'em.

Between the Marines & mechanicing I can drink anything, but I won't pay for Starbucks!

First time in a Starbucks, 2nd Ave (& maybe mid East 30's??) had to be about 1993 (just started a new job). Place was packed and the "barista" along with most of the other snobby east siders within earshot snorted with derision when I ordered a "regular w/ milk and sugar". "A regular what?" the punkass asked me. I had no idea what a tall/venti/grande was at the time ...... I was late for a site meeting and all I wanted was a ******* cup of coffee. I said "see that pot behind you that says bold? put some in your middle sized cup and leave me some room for milk". He did what I requested, however begrudgingly, and moved to the customer behind me on line. He was a construction guy more than likely going to the same site across the street I was going to. When asked what he wanted he said "remember what you just did for that guy? (pointing at me) .... do it again! The barista shot me a look like I just killed his cat and I laughed my *** off in a very loud and exaggerated manor.

Another cold winter morning I went in but refused to pay $4.50 for small coffee so I (foolishly) got a small hot chocolate instead.....
$6.00. WTF!?

Kinda like hair on your palms lol:lol:

Having some Folgers now, usually have it in the boat, but were boating then walking in this morning. Hope some ducks came down with this front.

I like Lavazza whole bean espresso blend and just a touch of steamed milk. Grew up with Folgers and never thought twice about coffee until being stationed overseas yrs ago. That is when I started to appreciate coffee. Over the years I have done various types.....Starbucks...once...nasty stuff, better coffee on the mess decks on a carrier.
So now its Lavazza whole bean in the ancient Krups espresso maker each morning.

Been drinking Starbucks ever since my daughter got me hooked on it when she worked there and got the lb a week benefit. Now I buy their whole beans and let my granddaughter use the "Starbucks points" for drinks. It's a fun way to stay in touch with her.

I would drink muddy puddle water before I would give StarFucks a penny of my hard earned money!!!

I enjoy anything dark, and like my dad (CDR-USN/Ret.) I like it strong enough to stand a fork up in it. Colombian is good. I really enjoyed the Black Silk, but I forget who made it...it's a grocery store item though, nothing "gourmet". Kona Blend is awesome.

But....thanks to my cardiologist (and my atrial flutter)...as of a year ago, I've had to completely drop caffeine, and booze. My 2 favorite food groups. So these days, I just try and find the least-offensive decaf so I can at least get the smell, and the activity, of a hot cup of something brown in the morning.

Somebody, have a good cup of Kona for me, okay?

A friend of mine, a 20 year navy vet, didnt care for the coffee his wife made when he was home on leave. It didnt taste like his aircraft carrier coffee, he missed the jet fuel tang.
