Have a Cold Case 22" radiator in my '68 383 Coronet. I need a shroud. Can anyone tell me definitively what, if anything will fit? Maybe I missed it so sorry if I did but I've read through enough threads on this that it's making my head hurt as I still am not sure what the final say is.

I have a shortie clutch and I think an 18" 5 blade fan, don't know what the blade pitch is. There's about 3/8-1/2" space between the fan and core. On this radiator, the mounting holes for a shroud are approx. 22" apart. I don't mind drilling a few holes if that's all it takes.

I'd rather not deal with wiring an electric fan but the car has gotten hot on a few occasions so I'd rather start with a shroud first and see if it helps.

Thanks for any input!

Well, truth is... Cold Case should have the answer for you. I know he's a sponsor here, but sorry, if you're gonna sell a product for a specific market, you better have the answer.

Agreed. However, I’ve read more than once the particular part they suggest does not work.

I don't think it does but that's why I am asking for definitive info. I know I can call the company but again, I've read on here more than once that the particular part they recommend (whatever part it may be) does not work. I don't know why or how because no one has really explained it in detail in any of the threads I was able to find.

I'm guessing there is some kernel of truth to it though? I've been through a lot of aftermarket radiators myself and almost all of them have some annoying flaw that prevents them from being a true drop-in replacement. Nothing aftermarket is Mopar-specific because it's all designed around an LS-swapped '69 Camaro and then 'modified' to fit our cars.

Nope. I have an aluminum radiator from Wizard in one of my cars now. Fits perfectly, stock shroud fits perfectly, and does what it's supposed to do... keep the engine cool.

Look at this thread. Pretty in depth look at CC and ACC. CC shroud fits but the holes are small.
Cold Case vs. AutoCityClassic (the 'ebay' radiator) Compare-O
That was one of the threads I was referring to. The following is a direct quote from it by @themechanic ;

"BTW, the recommended shroud on your website does not fit properly even with mods suggested."

I take that as a no-go.

Just to make sure, I went back to the CC website and got my definitive answer. I didn't see this when I purchased it two years ago but now it says "Will not accept a factory OEM shroud. Must fabricate or use our fan shroud combo kit."

I'll probably get an electric fan, it's not worth trying to figure out a mystery shroud that may or may not help anyway.

Did you read my post #6 ? All I had to do was use the shorter Hayden clutch.

Well, you did state you had a Wizard radiator...

I'm not sure I follow anyway. The shroud does not fit the radiator because of the mounting locations on the Cold Case raditoar side brackets. AFAIK, it has nothing to do with the distance of the fan to the radiator core.

......... ***Fits perfectly***, ***stock shroud fits perfectly***, and does what it's supposed to do... keep the engine cool..... you mentioned, nothing is made specific for Mopar, only LS Camaros... I just told you what is.

Not a B body, but I put a cold case in my 69 Dart, 383. I ordered the factory shroud and it fit. It doesn't seal well at the top, as the original shroud was designed for a bubble tank radiator, but it works and keeps my car cool.
