I know colors have been discussed and debated many times before but it seems fun. I still have a ways to go on my 69 Charger resto and I'm considering Plum Crazy Purple even though I know it wasn't offer for the 69 Charger. I'm still considering red, black and silver. My car will not be numbers matching original. It was originally a 318 car but I will do a RT clone. What are y'all thoughts on purple for a 69 Charger??

Looks like original color was gold, definitely not doing that, it was repainted bright blue with white stripes.

We have the same taste, I have a 69 Charger too and was thinking Plum Crazy Purple, Red, Black or Silver. Go for it.

To me, the high impact 1970-71 colors just don't look right on early cars.

You don't often see them in bright yellow with a black top/stripe but I like it.

Its your car and you should paint it whatever color floats your boat. But since you asked, if it were me I would pick a color that was an option for the model year.

It's already been modified in several ways. I say paint it the color you like - but I would be careful to keep it within reason so you don't alienate the fan base. You want to keep it sale able. I went off TDC with mine which was originally a maroon. I painted it a deeper Pearl burgundy that was a Lexus color. Not too far off the original - but I felt it was an eye catcher and made the car nastier looking. Go with what you like.
