I'm sure some of you remember George Carlin, Cheech and Chong, and other comedians that made comedy albums.
I remember listening to these as a kid with my buddies laughing - before the days of HBO comedy specials - when comedy records where a thing. Which ones did you like?
I'll start with a hilarious impersonation of John Lennon on this gem...

Where in Pittsburgh are you ? I'm in Franklin Park.

I never had an adequate enough attention span

I have this one.

Absolutely Richard Prior. I know the guy ended up being a creep, but Bill Cosby made some funny live comedy albums back in the early Seventies.

Anyone remember Gene Tracy, truck driver comedy?
Cheech and Chong for sure.
I heard a little Red Fox. “ I slam my Cadillac door on your hand You’ll say sh$& AND moth$& fu$&@#!”

Rodney Rude in the 1980's....he was golden. I saw him live here in New Zealand once.

My buddy went up and did a limerick when Rodney called for audience contributions.....very funny.

Some Glen Campbell for you country enthusiasts.....

Bob and Doug McKenzie, Great white North Album. Had Geddy Lee from Rush on it. Also had "You are our guest" on it. They provide the script on the album jacket and if you read it correctly and don't f- up any words, it sounds like you are engaged in an interview with them. Don't feel bad if you end up looking like a hoser.

It all started with my folks Tom Lehrer album in the 70's. It was new to me then. Does that count? I don't think they approved of me listening to "The Old Dope Peddler", "Be Prepared" (my fav), and other classics, .....but they let it go. I must have listened to it 25 times.

Later I was able to add quite a few of George Carlin albums to my LP collection, which I still have. Carlin was the man.

had George Carlin albums, recorded it to tape, The seven dirty words you can't say on t.v. was quite popular amongst the 13 year olds in jr. high school.
