I am in process of restoring my console and the console was missing the lock.

Lock: http://www.ebay.com/itm/311651276619

It also appears i must be missing some sort of latch for the lock to work with. Was wondering if someone a picture of what one may look like? And if you have one you are looking to sell also let me know please.

Thanks.

Ahh thanks alot thats what i need

anyone know if they repro?

I bought my lock off eBay. Shop carefully though because I got ripped on price. At the time I couldn't find one so that's what I thought they cost. Then after that I started seeing them for around $20 or so. I paid way more than that. Impatience.....

Hmmm i orderd one for $45 damn $20 thats cheap was it new? i can still cancel mine. was it $20 plus ship? the one i found is free shipping $45 also was yours new?i need the latch as well which im missing. thanks

Dude - go with the $45 unless you want to keep searching. I bought mine a few years ago and believe it or not I paid like $85 for it. Don't remember about the shipping part. You didn't get a great deal but it's a heck of a lot better than what I jumped at. It was new but they vary widely in price. I wish I would have kept looking - just for the principle of it.....

Alright will do. I did see them for $85 as well thankfully i kept looking.

thanks alot

I sent a private message to that ebay seller and he said that latch is for the glove box on the dash. i looked at my latch for my dash and it doesnt look like that. is he mistaken?

The one on the dash is similar. If I can get out to the garage today I will measure and snap a pic.
Here is another

But frankly, it can't be that difficult to make . I have posted a picture of the striker on my 67 glove box lid. It is original but again, how hard can it be to make this with a little time & effort. It is just a piece of stiff metal rod.

its not difficult but mine would probably come out looking horrible and for 20 bucks im not in a rush :)

i saw both of those and emailed the other guy as well

OK, I got out to the garage and he is correct. The one with the holes is for the dash glove box. Console is more like the one on my 67 I pictured.
So here are 4 more. I even included the one from the dash, clearly different. Hope this helps. BTW, the part number is 2879805 same as E body 70-74.
