Convertible top back plastic window

Like many others, the plastic back window in my '63 Polara is so yellowed that you cannot see through it. Anybody tell me exactly how to remove the whole thing for polishing or should I try it in place? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Removal requires removing the top.... So either polish it in place or replace it along with the top...

Been told never use anything with ammonia on the plastic window. Have you priced having just the window replaced?

Yup, Novus is one of the better products... Grab some old towels to wrap around the edges of the top around the window to protect the top..

Post on this thread if you buy anything and use and how it works. I've used pledge a few time on my window seemed OK. Have heard of Novus but forgot about it. It was pre-internet days 1980's.

You say Novus is one of the better products. Have you used other products? Machine or apply by hand is best?

I actually use Mothers Mag wheel polish, I've used Novus, it's a good product , but in my experience /Mothers is cheaper, easier to find/purchase & nearly as good

Don't use anything with ammonia, yellows the window. I've use Pledge, do a search and see what out there.

Novus fan here. #3 is for deep scratches, #2 is for light scratches and #1 is for polishing. I've always done it by hand because I worried that a polisher/buffer could catch the top and ruin it. My local parts stores all carry it or, of course, there's Amazon... I also used it on my Harley's windscreen with great results.
