Has anyone ever converted to a dry sump purely for the fact of ground clearance? My sump already has a bad ding in it from the prev owner and i would like to drop the car a couple inches but then the sump is way to close to the ground for my liking. Anyone done it before or have some useful info for me? Thanks

Like this one?

Going to a dry sump seems like a lot of trouble. Go with the Milodon road race pan which is barely below the K member or the "stock" 6 Qt style pan.

thanks for the info guys. i didnt know about the Milodan pans. I will check them out, a lot less work for me!

Yes, Milodon road race pan is cool or you can modify your pan like this. Mine holds 7quarts. It hangs down below the K-member about a 1/8" in the center of the pan. I used 14ga (.078)sheet
steel for the pan.
Hope this gives some ideas.

I like it but probably beyond the grasp of most here.
If you can not buy it and have it installed it will not happen crowd doesn't grasp fabrication.

Go with Milodon like the other members have suggested.
Good quality and they have been building Chrysler oiling systems since 1957 Dry sump systems are not intended for street driving and are and require regular maintenance, complicated and $$$$.$$

External oil systems allow the bypassing of irregular and restrictive stock internal oil passages. These systems allow the placement of the pick-up in optimum position, plus the use of free flowing braided line. Milodon Oiling Systems provide the optimum in oiling for all types of applications and competition.

Kits are available with static or swivel pick-ups with single or dual lines and with oil pumps with different levels of output. Systems come complete with all necessary bolts, fittings, O-rings, etc. for installation. A Milodon oil pan, windage tray and oil pump drive shaft will complete the package. In some cases, notching of frame is required. this is the system I have been running for years on different motors for years zero issues -12 feed line means low restriction on the feed side of the pump. just use the road race pan and a skid plate.

STOCK COVER SINGLE LINE SYSTEM
A simplified system that is great where space is tight. Using a stock oil pump cover allows this system to be more compact with no need for a separate oil filter adapter. Will supply adequate oil supply up to 7000 RPM when used with Melling M63-HV high volume pump. Use with Milodon #30931 low profile or #31015 deep sump style oil pans. Works for both Wedge and Hemi engines and all motor mounts.
