Could someone explain how air shocks work to a newbie? And possibly how to adjust them?

Other than the kits I've shown above, do you have a source for these individual Schrader valves that are designed to accommodate air shock line tubing?

Great short term solution to level out the car​

I was able to convert a 30yr old set of Monroe air shocks into a dual fill setup. I didn't even need to use the airline provided. I simply connected the supplied individual Schrader valves to my existing air lines, and already had holes in the bumper of my 1980 Camaro to fit the second valve. Required about 10 minutes, and now the car's ride height is balanced left to right.
New rear leaf springs are the correct solution, but this buys me a bit more time until the next big purchase.

Monroe AK 64 is one of the two part numbers I had posted earlier in post #39... available from Rock Auto for $17.10 plus shipping.
I also mentioned Gabriel 140656, available from Summit Racing.

Problem solved.
