As I get older, my eyes have a harder time seeing the timing marks on my damper.

Anyone have tricks using paint/crayons/etc. to help the tick marks stand out?

Crayons may melt with engine temp - might not be a long term solution.

Thank you.

I use timing tape or a white paint marker. Either works very well! 440'

If all else fails. Use shoe polish just to get it to where you can see it. You can wipe off anything that don't make it down into the lines.

I used paint also on my fluid damper and sprayed clear over top of the marks. Also used different color paints for multiple timing marks just in case I wanted to play with timing this was on my race car

Procure some of your wifes nail polish , in you favorite color , even comes with a brush.

I use "white out" too. I have an engraved degreed damper, but numbers are small. I mark the TDC, each 90* mark & my desired total timing with a white out mark that stands out nicely on the timing light or by eye when turning over by hand adjusting valves.
