I am thinking of swapping in a dana 44 out of a 2006-10 jeep grand cherokee. they share the same track width as us 62" my question has anyone done it i could find any info when i searched the forum. i am think the disk brakes would be nice as well as the posi...
 
oh forgot to say i am currently running a 8 1/4 but i have swapped in a 440 727 so i dunno how long it will last
 
I say do it. If it explodes, you'll know it wasn't strong enough.
 
The D-44 is stronger than the 8.25, you'll have no problems.

IF you get the D-44A (which is the AL center) don't use a floor jack at the center that makes a issue.
The D-44A has some differences than the D-44 with parts and building them also
