Dash lights flicker

Dash lights flicker when turning/dimming the rheostat normal speed. If I go really slow it doesn’t… other than that everything works fine and glows nice.

Is this normal or indicative of an issue with the headlight switch. Figured I’d check before I needlessly replace the headlight switch.

The rheostat contact could be dirty. Get a can of DeOxIt and generously spray the coil and contact. It should fix the problem.

Ok thanks! I’ll give it a shot
I have the red can at home- crc electronics cleaner. Will that do the same or is what you sent more specifically for the problem?

CRC is good and should work. DeOxIt claim to fame is it coats the contacts and is a permanent protectant.

Had the same issue. Cleaned the rheostat and took care of problem.

Also..... Make sure the rheostat is still cemented completely to the ceramic carrier
