Mine went well enough and nothing happened that's worth talking about except for staying out of trouble and didn't get hurt!

Usually Friday the 13 is a good day for me. This Friday was average :BangHead:

Cr8 and I went to Cabela's as he had a return to do, follow up check over at Scheel's too. I tagged along for the ride and to just GTFO of the house. I did a ammo & price check, prices still to high for me to buy but coming down. 100rds of .38spl for $62, 50rds of .45 for $39, a couple deals on shotgun, but that's about it. Shelfs are getting fuller too. Had the clearest air day in 2 weeks and now the ****'s back. All is/was good!

I have had 2 wrecks in my driving career and both were on Friday 13 so when I saw Cranky's post yesterday that changed everything cause I was going to take the 69 Coronet to run some errands before the storm gets here.
Cranky in my eyes could be responsible for saving a classic mopar yesterday !

Had a great Friday the 13th. Our crew picnic was on so I got good free food on the gov’t dime, then went back to work and spray painted the roof trim on a school on a beautiful sunny summer afternoon. Had a couple of Heineken draft to top off the evening. Wife was/is on call and didn’t get called until 0500AM so it was a pretty good day.

Had an appointment with the dentist that was supposed to fill a small cavity....turns out it was to 'remove' an old cavity and do it right. It was an old one and getting bad and that visit didn't go too bad for being NOT a good dental patient. He didn't tell me that was what he was going to do since he knows I probably wouldn't have come back from the last visit lol. Then shortly after, I went grocery shopping and had to go to two different stores to get what I wanted and it was 12:30 and traffic wasn't all that great but drove the beater and everyone stayed away from me :D

And to piggy back, did the return at Cabelas and then picked up a food dehydrator for drying out peppers onions and such as I need to do so because I am out of freezer space. Also picked up some 12 gauge #2BB/20 rds, and a box of 2 Ought Buck for 20 Gauge/20 rds, and some 177 Pellets for the air rifle for them damn nasty Pigeons from next door while at Sheels. Clearest day but today, it is so bad, air wise, that I was having a real hard time breathing while harvesting some vegy's from the garden. Funny but the smoke and lack of full sun and tomatoes. peppers, onions and squash are producing like crazy. Love having that as a means to offset the prices at the store...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

Uneventful. I like uneventful.

I had a phone call about 10:30am to say an old DC motor on another site I look after was making a funny squeaking noise....but not to panic...the Engineer has it under control. So I wasn't required on site. :)

About an hour later I get another phone call....better come over and take a peek.....bearing change & com skim didn't help any....

Nek minute, I am rushing around on a Friday afternoon second guessing to pick up supplies for a Saturday swap-over. Went from the 50+ year old variable speed DC motor to a modern 3-phase motor and VFD. Saturday turned out to be quite lucrative for me. :D

Fixed up a couple of issues that the guys have had for 20+ years on site with trailing cables etc.....and the machine will be easier to fault find from now on.

Best Friday 13th ever.

Friday the 13th is generally just another day.. Now back in 1979 Friday the 13th was a little more exciting... That was the day the 100 Ton floating crane winch failed & we bounce tested a Vietnam Era Fast Attack River Boat... It failed... And a few guys got hurt pretty bad... Broken bones & such... But no one died so it could have been much worse....

Oh man....was laughing until the part about 'a few guys got hurt pretty bad'........and glad no one died. I used to run an over head bridge crane and messed up a time or two. No one got hurt but it made me sweat bullets for a bit. The potential was there and I got some nasty looks from the guys on the ground but all was ok. Steel mill stuff....

Heck - never thought about it being Friday da 13th. Took my daughter's kitchen table she and I made in my shop to her place 230 miles away in a bud's pickup (and the bud), then picked up a new sofa for her to save her a $130 delivery charge (the furniture store was friggin 2 miles away). There was a body parts place a few miles away to check out a Dakota truck box and maybe bring that back. Wow, cleanest box I could ever hoped for after a 15 month search and real cheap. Bad luck? I was driving up last Sunday to do what I did yesterday. Made it 45 miles before overheating needing a tow back home...

Yeah there was some laughs but guys getting hurt is never a good thing... This was a WWII design crane & the guy who gave the orders was in a cabin below where the cables ran, when the winch failed cables were whipping around everywhere, he choose to jump out of the cabin to the plate steel deck 25' below.... The cabin got tore up pretty bad so it was probably the right call but he got a broken leg, broken ankle & some other injuries... Guys handling the lines were mostly ok over than a few cuts from flying debris & rope burns...

Am here and and alive, so if I do something dumb yesterday I can do something even dumber tomorrow, regardless If it's Friday the 13th or not.
I know the feeling!! Did something like that today!
