Did they make Aluminum 440???

Does anyone know if they made an aluminum block 440? Found a guy that says he has one.

I think World Products and Indy both have an Aluminum version of the 440.

Never heard of a car coming stock with a 440 aluminium block. Chevorlet camaro made a 427 aluminium block in 69, but in very limited numbers.

Nope, It's not rare at all,.... If you have the coins to cover it.

The only factor that makes it rare is that it's not everyday the average person will drop 3 or 4 grand on an engine block.

It is NOT Chrysler built, ...If it's Aluminum and if it's a 440, ...It's aftermarket.

Actually I think there were aluminum wedge blocks available from Mopar years ago. I'm also pretty sure the low block they offered had the RB size main journals in it for stroker action.

I heard the 225 Slant Sixes were designed and engineered to be an Aluminum block engines, That's one reason the Main bearing size was so huge on these, but after analyzing the production cost they used cast iron for the block material instead.

There was a couple of years that the Aluminum 225/6 was in production in the early 60's

Nope. The Hyper Pak 4V 225s that were built in the early 60's used aluminum blocks
