They are collectable. But unlike our Plymouth Superbird, those Ford superbirds weren't the top of the heap - most people would rather have the Falcon XB GT with the 351 Cleveland engine instead.

Surprisingly the actual "top of the heap" for the Ford fans in Australia is the 4 door XY GTHO Phase 3. I had one for about 5 years (replica, not original). It was a good car to drive, but I didn't rate the 4 door styling compared to the 2 door coupe designs from the US, so I knew it wasn't a keeper.

No Warner-Bros bird on there. Don't think Ma Mopar bought the rights to that. They did get permission and paid for the rights to use the Road Runner.

Indeed. But most of them had a much more discreet emblem on the rear.
