I'm finally getting some miles and enjoyment with this car....and going through lots of gas !
I've searched but am having difficulty getting some setting info for these mechanically linked holleys.....4782 ctr, and 4783 ends
Thing is running well, but am playing with accel pump settings and timing in trying to eliminate a stumble/bog when end carbs are opened quickly under load
69 road runner, 69 440, auto, 3.91 g70-15's
I've emailed holley tech (they've been pretty helpful in the past)
I know they're similar to ford's old set up linkage wise
Thing is i didn't have this hesitation (that I can remember) when I drove it 3 yrs ago before disassembling for repaint
I've changed the intake from an orig iron to new edlebrock alum
Timing is 36 total, about 12-13 base
12" vac a idle (875 rpm)
Decent looking streams from all three acc pumps....moving the adjustment on the ends helped some , but still slight hesitation when ends open quickly
#31 squirter in ctr, #28 on ends.....
I may try to move the cams up from #2 to #1 hole in end carbs....ctr is on #1 cam hole all #218 pump cams
I should also mention that with ends disconnected, the car transitions/accelerates smoothly at a snap wide open throttle from a stop(although without the extra "kick" of the end carbs!)
Hoping I can get it back to smooth transition with some more fine tuning on the end carb pump shots, but just in case....does anyone have any experience with holleys that runs a chassis dyno near me ?
I'm in north/central mass
Thanks !
