Can anyone identify this cast iron dual point distributor? The overall length of the shaft is exactly 2 inches. There is no I.D tag, but there is stamping on the underside (1BP1)

What’s the length from the mounting flange where it meets the block to the tip of the shaft?

It’s a prestolite distributor for a B engine and being points it’s for a pre 1970 383

My guess its either 1967 or 1968 vintage "B" block because of the arrangement of the vacuum advance mechanism...to change the RATE of advice, the nipple end un-screws to add or remove shims under the spring to adjust its tension. Later models use a crimped housing and adjusted spting tension thru the hose nipple with an Allen wrench. Just my opinion of course

Not for a '67 383 unless from maybe a A body.

Dual Point 361/383 without O ring seal, so early 67 or before. If you disassembled and provided stamping on the cam stop, I could tell you the specifics from the Prestolite parts book. Most likely an IBS-4006? the ? would hone in on the actual use.
