What auto transmission would the factory have installed in a Dodge Dart Swinger with the 318 engine ? Not sure of the year made.

Most likely a A-904 3 speed.

I don’t think that many slant six or 318 A body cars ever had the 727 except for taxi cabs. Plenty of trucks had the 727 behind them but not so much with cars. If you can see the transmission drain pan, it looks like this:

Again, that is the 727 pan. You likely have the 904. I don’t have a 904 here to take a picture of it.
