I realize that there is no love for the Gas Monkey Garage here on this site as was explained to me on another thread, however I don't watch the show and therefore had no preconceived notions about attending the Dodge factory sponsored event yesterday ..., and I'm glad that I did. This show was not only a first class event, it was also the largest gathering of Mopars that I have ever seen. There were 850 cars in attendance not counting the factory vehicles on premises. Initially the event was to be for Chargers, Challengers, and Vipers only, however during the final week it was opened up to any Mopar as long as it was registered and driven into the event. There were roughly 50 classic & vintage Mopars in attendance and judging by the comments that we received from everyone that stopped by, it was the older iron that stole the show.

Dodge factory personnel, and money, was on full display! There was a drifting course set up with no less than four Vipers taking attendees on tire shredding ride-alongs all afternoon as well as a mock dragstrip complete with christmas tree that also provided ride-alongs in brand new Hellcat Challengers as they raced side by side for what looked like a 1/8th mile pass. There was also a factory display with two Hellcats somehow converted into an interactive video game that allowed you to drive the car on a track displayed on a large screen in front of the vehicles. There was also the full line of 2015 performance model Dodges on display for everyone to sit in and crawl all over as well as smoking hot info-babes close by to answer any of your questions. (they were pretty sharp too!)

Entertainment was provided on an outdoor stage during the afternoon as well as headliner Motley Crew that evening in the brand new "Gas Monkey Live" music venue. There were complimentary event T-shirts and other give-aways for all who attended, and oh ..., did I mention that the entire thing was free? Say what you will about this Rawlings character, but this show was "Top Shelf" and everyone had a blast!

I have hundreds of pictures if anyone is interested, here's a few to wet your appetite.

Thanks for sharing. If I was closer, I would have gone just for the people and their mopars! And of course the Crew!

thanks for sharing...I hope to see more mo-**** as the winter months creep in on the east coast!

Wonder why they didn't pick "graveyard cars" to endorse the product?

Great post wish I could have been there I'm in palm beach fla some times I believe I'm the only old iron Mopar in town where are the others in palm bean county ?

Richard Rawlings is far more identifiable, plus he is the current spokesman in the Dodge advertisements. That's why.

I wish I'd known about this earlier. Hell, I'd have fired up the Coronet and spent the day. Looks like fun. If this occurs next year, you bet I'll be there.

Just curious as to why they picked someone that's shown past indifference bordering on disdain for their products to be their spokesman versus someone who already has a successful business restoring their products, and obvious affinity.

Perhaps Worman's antics don't sit well with them either.

My daughter and I were there also. It was really well done and a lot of fun. We both got to ride in the Vipers drifting, can now cross that off my bucket list. The line was a little long but they were moving it pretty good. We didn't feel like standing in line again for the drag race but I got a couple of passes recorded. There were some awesome cars there, no shortage of sheet metal eye candy. Hope they do it again next year, maybe I'll have the 71 ready for it. Since I'm doing a 71 satellite I was happy to see a really well done orange one that came in from Tennessee. It had "MANNING" license plates. Got lots of pics and some ideas. All in all a great time!

Looks like a great day! Thanks for the pictures guys..

Right now..I am dealing with this in Finland!
