Don's 1969 Charger Restoration

Kind of surprised that wire wheels cleaned it up so well, but it looks great.

The smaller wheels with the short strands really work well. I used a cordless drill and when the wire wheel isnt biting as well, I reverse the drill rotation, and then it really digs in

Looks good. Where is the dent. Had one on my runner and had to make a tool so I could get it out. Not much room to work on them through the holes.

The Dent is in the rearward lip. Right above the tail lights if it were on the car. You can see them the best in the 3rd pic from the end of the previous group of pics. There are 4 holes from were I assume some one had previously tried to pull the dent out.

So I decided to make a temporary paint booth.

I have 10 foot ceilings so I put up some 2x4 framing attached to my garage door tracks.
Then I wrapped it in plastic. I used Norton Blue Sheeting comes in a roll of 16'x350'

The plan is to open overhead door just enough to put a fan under it, and another fan in the entry door.
I will wet the floors before painting.

Sorry these are the only pics I have.

With all the work you have put into that shell, you must be kicking up your heels about now, finally getting to this point. Looks great Don, can't wait to see some exterior paint on it.

I didn't like the way the quarter extensions matched so I did some metal work.

If nothing else, you sure have turned into a good metalworker. Looking good.

Nice work Don. That’s the stuff that makes a really nice restoration. It’s all the little fitment details that take as long as hanging the panel itself that makes a car really come together IMO

Nice work Don!! How did the Norton Blue Sheeting work out? Does it tear easily?
