I just got home after working three 12 hour days there and 9.5 hours today. This year the show could have been called Mopar Cars And Corvette Nationals. Seemed like about half the show was Mopars!
The show floor was overloaded with 636 cars. It’ll be under 600 next year as it was packed with fine metal!

THANK YOU for what you do to help put the show on, it REALLY seems like a GREAT show even though I never been there before. I bet your whipped, you can go home and sleep for a week now I bet.

It did seem like there was alot with some of the youtube videos I seen, I loved seeing the HEMI convertible display and especially the spring Fever display

There was ALOT of cars it seemed, and I did hear that the car count was 600 plus from what Tom at Rocket Restos said too. Why will it be less than 600 next year?

Another great show. I'll post up some more pics maybe tomorrow. It would be easiest from my phone, but now I'm getting bitten by the sideways bug. So I might have to get them on my computer before I can get them right side up.

I think the BO29 Barracuda barn find was my favorite.
Darrell Alderman's 1991 Pro Stock was another great one to see. No sign of the NOS, though.

And of course, Landy's Dodge. Really, there were much more than those that can be mentioned, as well! As XS22J8R, said, it could have been the Mopar and Corvette Nationals. I met FMJ and JPrusinows and their fine machines. Great guys to visit with!

Numbers got a bit beyond capacity for the hall basically.
My assignment during the show Saturday and Sunday was to keep an eye on the stage area including reconfiguring the stage for the different seminars and such.
Which is nice because I got to hear the seminars, be beside the stage for the very good AC/DC tribute band Saturday evening, and finally, listen to Bob Ashton’s speech’s during awards this afternoon.
He’s been doing car show organizing for his career including ones like world of wheels and more. He said the rule of thumb in planning car count is approximately 10% of registered cars cancel at the last minute, or are no shows.
We had 5 cars cancel this year and 6 the last. So that means the standard rule of thumb he’s used for planning doesn’t work for MCACN! People whose cars get accepted there tend to show up! So he’ll need to plan future shows for a much lower no show rate.

I believe FMJ’s car was in a vendor’s exhibit for the shop that did the paint and bodywork. It looked flawless…

This is not fmj’s car, he has the Black ‘65 Dodge in post #125. That’s me and him with our backs to the camera in the first pic.

This Belvedere was amazing though, basically flawless.

Thanks for the clarification, both are prime examples of classic Mopar muscle…

I made a Google photos album myself. There's over 240 images and videos. There really were a LOT of Chrysler products there. It's almost like they should have taken the "Corvette" out of the name of the show this year. Regardless, the level of everything at this event is just mind boggling. I believe there were 636 cars in total and not one was there last year. That's bananas!

Beyond the Mopar stuff I was really impressed with the Shelbys and the Bill Stroppe Baja exhibit, especially the little '72 Ford Courier. Those '65 Shelby cars are surprisingly LOUD. I'm not a big factory showroom resto kinda guy so I was happy to see several old race cars of various flavors. Only stuff I could do without was some of the generic "cruise night" cars and goofy customized crap that they put towards the back. I'd rather see more serious, higher-level stuff but I'm sure the owners were excited to be a part of it so good for them.

We were situated with the 1965 A990 group that Jim Kramer coordinated for the 60th Ann. of those factory race cars. He was genuinely excited for us to be there and treated us like royalty the whole time. And I'm not gonna lie, spending three days up close with Dick Landy's '65 AWB was a dream. We met so many people being in that spot - from regular guys just enjoying the show to famous racers, high-end restorers and well-known journalists. Everyone we met was super cool and welcoming.

Everyone was impressed with the street race starting line burnout floor treatment tht was part of the display. it really was an art installation. All day Friday guys were looking at us sideways trying to figure out what we were doing. It took several hours to lay it down but it was well worth it as it really added to the overall display. We regretted not having a little VHT to put down. At the end there was a little tranny fluid on it to add to the authenticity. Several people people made inquiries about it wanting it for their garages and even a guy that wanted it for his bar.

Thanks to fmj for building his work of art over the last 40 years and for letting me to talk him into putting it in the show. Who knew the car would win Best Modified Street Machine or whatever the award was. And award or not, it was an honor and privilege to be the Mr. Hyde trunk monkey for the weekend. We had an absolute blast and I can't think of anyone else that I would have rather done it with.

Mostly Mopar Muscle and a few Corvettes 2025

I heard that next Summer they are hosting the cars of the 70s.
The Chevy Vega, Ford Pinto, AMC Pacer and Dodge Aspen are featured.
I read it at FABO.

You're joking, right? What would they call it, "The 2025 Malaise-era Velour and Smog-equipment addled lo-po 5 mph bumper Car Nationals"?

I mean, they had a fairly significant Mustang II exhibit this year so I'm good on those.

The Z16 display was great, so were the GS Stage 1 Buicks and Olds W Machines. But, Mopars stole the show this year, not only in sheer numbers but quality too. If you want to see rare cars of all makes, this is the place to go…
