Hey, everyone, I need to remove the lock cylinder from the door on my 72 Satellite and I'm looking for some help. I was able to remove the spring retainer clip (larger than the typical spring clip) but am unable to remove the rod connecting the cylinder arm to the latch assembly.

I am wondering if I should remove the rod from the latch assembly (looks like round plastic connection) and pull it all out through the cylinder hole or if I should remove the spring clip that holds the arm on the lock cylinder that is connected to the rod and latch assembly? This will be a tough task as you have to fish a screwdriver through a hole in the door and try to pop it off. Just looking for some guidance. Thank you!

You will have to disconnect the plastic clip at the door latch, push the rod out of the plastic clip and the spring clip at the cylinder. Remove the rod with the cylinder.

the spring retainer its also a cover and thief protection seal to save from being pulled out with a wire throught the weatherstrip and glass, hence the reason for the shape.

Rod can be pulled out from plastic clip easilly. Will just pop out

Sounds good. Thanks for the feedback. I pulled on the rod when I was trying various options I will just be more persistent. Just to confirm it is the rod only that comes out of the plastic retainer. Does the plastic retainer circled stays in place?

If you pull the lock retainer off, you can pull the lock cylinder out of the hole far enough that you can 'unhook' it from the top of the lock rod.
