I purchased my {ahem} Dart last September and I am just now getting to working on her.
So the first thing I go for is the brakes...easy enough, right? wrong!! lol
I start with the pass side front. I try to get the drum off, but it wont budge. I back the adjuster off as far as it will go, and it still wont move. I smack it with a BFH (4# dead blow), no dice. I heat the face of the drum up with a propane torch for a minute or so, still stuck. Buddy of mine says go to Harbor and get a 3-jaw puller. The biggest one they have is 8". I buy it anyway and extend it to 12" with some "engineering" lol
I put a 1/2" socket wrench on it and start a-crankin'. Puller gets real tight and I smack it with the dead blow a few times and the damn thing still wont come off!! @%^&$%^*!!!!
I crank on it a little more but it still wont move. sooooooo discretion being the better part of valor, I stop before I break something.
Ive done drums on the GTX before {after further thought, it was only the rears i did}, but they all came off nice and easy. no hang ups. Am I missing something? are the Dart's drums different??
What say Ye members of the finest damn board on the net??
