I pulled the metering rod from my AVS2 Edelbrock 650. It has the number 7037 on it. I can’t find any info on it. Is that a part number? What metering rod would 1 step larger and smaller?
70 is the cruise step [ 0.070"] diameter. 37 is the power step. If cruise is ok, but you want to go leaner/richer on the power step, then you need a rod 70XX. 37 is already pretty rich for a power step. If you are 'tuning', make sure the float level is 7/16"; it is often wrong.
