Hey, David here. Whilst restoring my 73 Charger, I am converting it to a 4 speed. Where does the ball stud bracket need to be welded on the frame rail ?

Question #2 how can I identify the proper 4 speed for my Charger? Like the differences between the years. I have an uncle/cousin that has a whole bunch of mopar stuff, and a few 4 speeds. Which ones should I look for that'll be correct for my car? I'm not worried about numbers matching. I plan on sending the 4 speed I buy to brewers to have it rebuilt w/ an overdrive gear set.

Question #3 Is a clutch pedal/brake pedal assy a bolt in deal on an auto-born car? Do I need to drill a hole in the firewall for the clutch rod to poke through?

Thanks all, -David

Brewers should be able to answer most of your questions.

Start with the manual..........

Some 4spd info here may help............

There may (or may not) be slots in the frame rail for the correct bracket to fit in. Otherwise I believe you want the torque shaft (z-bar, bell crank) straight across in any view. Engine and trans assembly in the correct location or the clutch rod may not align.
The clutch rod runs through a vertical elongated hole that may just be plugged or need to be cut out. My '68 was plugged. It was also a bolt in/on for the pedal.
