If it does not work, I can repair it. I actually use EL tape if the EL layer itself is cracked on the shift indicator. Any Vinylex will do wonders on that black decal. Just takes some patience and elbow grease...

Just to absolutely clear to my FOGGY brain>>u can replace the strip if needed ? so you can separate the plastic cover from the strip itself?

yes, you can separate the plastic cover from the strip....I had about 20 66 EL strips here, all were bad, none were repairable

And you can remove the decal from the shift indicator base, and then reattach it once the EL tape is in place...I've repaired a half dozen or so like that...
