Good afternoon,
I am looking to install an electric fuel pump to assist with starting the car after sitting for a spell. Can anyone share pictures of their installation? I bought an Edelbrock fuel pump 17301 4-7 psi.

That's pretty neat. A lot will depend on your exhaust system.

For an inline “booster pump” like that, I would suggest you try to mount it inside the passenger frame rail and splice into the stock fuel line. Closer to the tank (back of car) the better

If you're running an LS motor....it should bolt directly to the block. :p
 
After the fuel bowls are filled, will the mechanical pump pull through the electric pump, or do you need to keep it running all the time?
 
Not a 69 B body. My install on my 65 Coronet with a Carter. I use a momentary push button switch under the dash before cranking-key on to prime. Works well.

Thanks 493! Do you have priming issues with your setup, since the pump is above the bottom of the fuel tank and doesn't have self-priming via gravity?
 
It's been installed for 2-3 years and never a hiccup. I usually hold the momentary button in for a 6 count, pump the pedal 1-1/2 times and it fires right up. This setup is the quickest starting vehicle I've had since my 55 Olds! That was back when gas was only gas.

Got a brand name of your pump?
 
Some may have luck with these, but even the edlebrock versions are made in chinee, and THEY SUCK and not in a good way, expect failure within a year.

The only ones I ever use are the holley red or blue. but also get a fuel pressure regulator as they can over power the float in the carb
 
I would never pay 71 bucks for a fuel pump made in...

My question is, how long is a spell? And is it so long the fuel just evaporates? If not, is the fuel leaking, why not start periodically to circulate fluids even if you don't want to drive it for whatever reasons, weather etc.

My car evaporates the fuel quickly in warm weather so, one day of inactivity-it may start. Two days time will be enough to evaporate most of the gas in the float bowl. You will learn.
