My 66 Coronet 440 (318 Poly Motor) has a wire coming out of the positive battery cable (looks like a No. 10 wire) that goes back to what looks like a junction block just below the bulkhead connector. Wha is the purpose
of this wire ?
Tks,

From the factory it goes to the starter relay stud.
A fusible link off that stud goes through the bulkhead and powers everything in the cabin.
Can you post a picture?

Technically, the fusible link runs to the battery side of the ammeter, through the ammeter to splice 1 (where all vehicle loads are powered from), from there back out through the bulkhead to the alternator output stud. The starter relay stud should not be powering any other running loads directly.

Thank you for the info, greatly appreciated.
