i have a chance to get a 69 440, ran 10 years ago, its sitting in a garage..for 500 or a rebuilt never fired 383, 906 heads, purple shaft, mp intake, heavy duty rocker arms, steel crank, 7 qt oil pan, for 1500 or use the 440 that cam in my 63... its kinda of a money thing.

Cubic inches is always nice to have as many as you can. :hello2: Ron

Get the 440 since it sounds like you are already set up for that. 383 doesn't want to do too much until you wind it up. That gets old after a while.

I'd say it depends on the condition of the 440. If it needs major work then be prepared to spend that $1500.00 and then some. If the 383 is all done up like it says, hard seats in heads, etc.. then that may be a pretty good deal and worthy of consideration.

Don't turn your nose up on the 383. Mine took out some BB and SB Chevys, a 351C Ford, 440's and a HEMI Charger back in the day.
