Engine colors

My 1969 GTS 340 was painted Turquoise from the factory not red as mentioned.

1969 was a weird year for small-block colors. You could have Red, Turquoise, Hemi Orange or Corporate Blue on any 273/318/340. Trucks tended to be Red, strangely enough. As there were four engines plants then, this was likely to plant variations.

Don’t know why that list suggests 68 440 HP is Orange. They’re turquoise.

Having owned many '69 cars and trucks since the mid-'70s, I take umbrage with that list. That might be the official word, but the real-world shows differently. I've owned all four colors in various '69 Mopars
