Ive come accross a almost free 1965 or 1966 plymouth fury III wagon. The owner said before her husband passed away the engine was rebuilt but it has sat for almost 15 years since. It has a big block not sure which one but it has the distributor up front and a two barrel carb. Any ideas on if its a 361 or 383?
She said she thought it was a 65 but the grill looks like the 66.
Any input on how hard the engine/trans swap will be into my 69 plymouth satallite wagon that has a 318? If i remember correctly 65 has a special trans that i wouldnt be able to use?

*cough cough* 426 hemi! cough* cough* lol

It should fit no problem, a 65 should be a 383 if its the original motor. You will need motor mounts and a few odds and ends. The 65 trans will work since its the first year of the slip yoke. It should also be the first year for the column shift, I am not an expert in the earlier Mopars and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

It is a column shift......
i woulda crapped myself it i saw a hemi in there.. hahaha.
Im sure its one of the smaller big blocks because of the two barrel intake.
im going to make room for it and see if i can round up a flat bed to go get it tomorow. the wife gave the thumbs up parting it in the driveway as long as i get some kinda cover to hide it with.. lol

anyone know where i can get the motor mounts?
Does it need a different transmission mount too?

If it's a 66, the VIN will tell you what engine was supposed to be in it, 65- not so easy.

There are many threads on a small to big block swap on here. Look around a bit, and you will probably find answers to most all your questions.
