EPA squeeze on aftermarket car part sellers hurts classic car industry.

How much air, fuel and pollutants do they use and spill into our environment flying around telling us we need to be stopped.

I designed a small engine ignition timing controller for my son's go-kart. I'm working on parts 6 & 7 for a 7-part Nuts and Volts article on how to do it. For part 7 I'm also including emissions testing information (I own a $6000+ EMS 5003 5-gas analyzer for work) just because of what that article discusses. I figure I'd nip it at the bud, before I even get asked.

The EPA was created by executive order ratified by House and Senate. If a president rescinded the executive order all hell would break loose!
No matter, it's still unconstitutional as it is not an enumerated power under CotUS.

Yeah, I pine for the days of nearly extinct bald eagles and burning rivers. If it wasn’t for “rolling coal” fucktards and Harley selling emissions bypass devices at the dealership we wouldn’t be here. Almost none of the cars on this forum had emissions devices in the first place, nothing to defeat. Lot’s of hype to get people worked up. ******** on the left and ******** on the right will make it a CF of course.

Leave us alone! When the folks that want to be left alone get involved it’s going to be ugly..I guess they think we want our stuff to run fat and dirty... most are very clean as we want the engine to run properly.. got to be a politician involved somewhere with their pants down or hand out waiting..

almost everything I buy anymore has a
C.A.R.B. stamp # on it, even performance parts

I think it's just another revenue generation scam
from the govt. hacks

always have their hands out

tax & spend mentality, especially now/today

Tyranny - plain and simple. Really, by comparison, look at the number of modern daily drivers on the road compared to our old classics. And most of us drive our old rods maybe 1000 miles a year. Leave us alone and do your damn job, Senator!! ...you know - defending the constitution and our freedoms!!
:soapbox:

I think China needs more than its little paper masks because we all know they won’t stop a fart...

90% of the global population breathes air containing high levels of pollutants. So to make it better for us we let China make things that we think are bad for us and we end up with the bad air they make anyway. Makes sense to me.

That's the thing that pisses me off the most about the whole "clean air" debate. The government continually pushes jobs out of the states because of how dirty they are only to send them to a place that's nowhere near as efficient as us and instead create even more pollution:realcrazy:. This is why I don't believe in any of it, politicians aren't always as dumb as we'd like to think, if we know it then so do they so the question is why?

Obama told us why when he said it's time for America to step back and let others lead, they want to cripple our nation. Why?? I think we all know why.

As a percentage of the overall numbers of vehicles on the road and off it, "hobby cars"
lets call them are a very small, insignificant amount.
You could shut down the whole hobby and racing scene in this country overnight and
effect VERY little change in any emissions measurements in this country as a result.

What does all that mean?
The EPA is grandstanding to advance their agenda - and the results wouldn't matter if
they actually were serious about things.
Truthfully, they're struggling to make their budget requests relevant these days.

I'm with @Budnicks on this one - it's all about the money and keeping the EPA name
relevant and in the news, simply put - what we call being a "banty rooster" around these parts.

When they take on Ships and Airplanes, maybe I will believe they are doing something, maybe. Those ships carrying breakable crap from China and oil from the middle east leave a bigger trail than a thousand 572 Hemis with untuned carbs.
