I stood on a rock so I could feel like a big man around town! :luvplace:

After visiting Fallingwater (pictures posted on previous page), we drove to our hotel on some really nice roads. We stopped at a covered bridge.

On our final day we drove TONS of small roads and took the long way to get to the Classic Auto Mall. We did see a couple of highways though for a few miles. Here is a shot of us messing around with Robert and his fine 71 Road Runner.

Then we got to the Classic Auto Mall. Although it is really pretty close to me (about an hour away), I had never been there. Wow, the place is much bigger than I expected, and it has almost anything you can imagine, from exotics to muscle cars to nice cruisers. Many of the prices they are asking are out of line, but some cars seem to be reasonably priced. Regardless, it was fun to visit.

An example of one of the old stores filled with cars.

This was one of my favorites - I have a soft spot for AAR Cudas.

This is a partial view of the place. Cars in each old store as well as in the aisles. A lot to look at!

To finish up our tour, we ate at a nice spot recommended to us by @QuickBpBp
It was a great place with a nice view, but I forgot to take a picture

We still have a couple of members headed home today, but besides the travel back home, the little HawkRod tour is now done.
It was fun and I hope anyone who participated enjoyed it too!

Link to the engine build?
It is buried in here
HawkRod is doing the 2023 Hot Rod Power Tour!
I'd be interested in what tuning parameters were changed.
OK, so a bit more on what we did dyno tuning for those that care.

First, I will start with my conclusion:
In my case, my engine is limited by its ability to take in air/fuel as well as it's ability to get it back out. Any engine obviously runs in a car as it is configured. We all know that changing intakes, heads and exhaust can dramatically change how an engine is able to perform. My 2 1/2 inch full exhaust with nearly stock style mufflers is a major bottle neck. Also remember that I have to get my engine and intake to fit under a stock hood with an Air Grabber, so my choice of manifold is severely limited.

So basically most of the tuning was related to max timing and air/ fuel mixtures. My timing started off at 37 degrees max with a Wide Open Throttle (WOT) air fuel (AF) mixture at 12.5.
After tuning a number of times, we ended up at a final of 34 degrees with WOT AF at 12.9. This was done by alternately bringing down the timing and/or WOT AF and seeing how the power levels reacted to the change. Once the power levels started going back down, then we found the key spot my car liked.
If you look at the graph below (hard to read), my max horsepower is at around 5150 RPM. This is likely due to the engine being restricted on the top end.

The nice thing is the broad, flat torque curve. THIS is what makes a car nice to drive on the street!

Hawk The engine peaked at 5100-5200 with open headers on the engine dyno as well, although this was when it was still wearing the ported iron heads.

Yeah, yeah, none of you guys give a crap: what are the numbers????
Final: 448 rear wheel horsepower and 507 lb feet of torque.
Many thanks to @Nxcoupe for all the dyno tuning help and advice!
That's no slouch, thanks for sharing it too
