Guys I have literally tried everyone. No one Stateside will ship this battery to me. The one company that was willing to do it quoted me shipping which was more expensive than the purchase price of the battery!

Have you other European based members found these anywhere over here?

Been looking for these too, with no results... car batteries are considered dangerous goods and won't be transported in aircraft. They would have to ship them by boat. Check with those various guys and companies who import US cars to Finland - they might be able to put a battery or two in the shipping container for a fair-ish price.

Yeah my next attempt is to get one put into the trunk of a car I know is coming here. Luckily I have a mate who buys a lot of classic cars so this is possible. It is just such a hassle to organize.

We have a unique customs rule here. If I buy a BODY, let's say a '68 Charger. And I pay whatever for it, say 5,000 since it's a rust heap. As long as the car has a title and I have a receipt for the PURCHASE price of the car, ANYTHING else done to it BEFORE it leaves the US is not eligible for customs duty!

That mean in theory, that I could buy a body, with title, then give it to someone to rebuild into a full car, and all that stuff on it comes in without customs duties!

Now..only problem..

How do I make sure a build like that goes smoothly, from all the way over here? Not likely, considering the many stories on here about bad paint, poor workmanship etc.

Would also take the fun out of building the car myself too. But it sure would be cheap! Relatively, considering bringing each part in AFTER the car is here will attract customs duty every time.

Can you not buy the OEM battery 'DRY' as in no liquid?? I thought that you could get them like that at one time - then fill will acid etc when you have it in your own country.

There are loads of quality cars like you speak of down here in NZ :headbang: And I have a friend in the shipping game.

I would love to do that. Even the box and then I can maybe swap in internals here. Does anyone know WHO makes these batteries and how I could contact them?

Hmmm, I will need to have a chat to you Roge. Shipping is murder out our way.

Does not fit my battery..I already went down this road a while ago.

At this years Power Meet in Västeras/Sweden was a vendor (obviously from Europe), who had them on hand and displayed a red top. I'll try to remember the name, maybe another member who was there can chime in...

That's interesting news. Did you happen to see how much he asked for them?

PLEASE do! Crossing fingers toes and whatever else..

Man, I'll do my best. The guy had a lot of Mopar parts, clips, screws, interior, paint etc. Didn't ask for a price, somehow I was distracted by the 8.000 cars and strange scandinavian people... :-)

Request the battery ships dry.... by a complete car and pay 4000 on paper for a shell and pay him again for the rest of the parts .... no one would know it was complete or parts then go over with it... My cousin did importing/ exporting in Stockholm fifteen years or so a go.....
