Ever increasing threat of home invasion, so I bought:

A happy ending. That's why I practice weekly....not weakly.

South American crap. If you're buying for defense....figure what your life is worth.

For the one that tried to get away!

I have a Taurus .357 fits perfectly between my split bench seat in my Dakota. Carried it there for ten years. It's anything but crap. I would not own a Pistol that was anything but American. But Taurus revolvers are fine wheelguns.

This is for the guy from the U.K. And anyone else that doesn't think it can happen. A few years ago we had our home broken into and robbed while we were home sleeping. The guy came thru the garage door and the back door of the house. Not to difficult to get in because they were unlocked. My fault I know. It was an oversight that night. The bad guy came in and stole all our valuables and loaded them up in one of our cars and took off. Again we were sleeping and never heard him. He made plenty of noise in the garage because my neighbor heard it. He walked right up to our bedroom door - but didn't open it. Long story short he tried to blow up our SUV by putting rags down the gas tank and starting them on fire. Also started a fire inside the car to get rid of evidence I guess. The car didn't blow. He left a small blood spot on the seat - the cops later busted him from a DNA hit in the computers. Turned out he'd been arrested before for a felony and had a DNA sample in the system. He did some time and had to pay restitution. We didn't get peace of mind because we thought he might come back some day.

I went out that week and bought a Sig Saur 9mm for home defense. Got my wife lessons, she's now a trained killer if it happens again. I was trained by a former cop. The guy was on a **** load of drugs and no telling what he would have done had he opened that bedroom door. I now know the answer to that - he'd go flying backward with a chest full of lead. Oh and by the way - our city was even recognized as one of the safest cities in CA. Now I have my own 911!

Gtx'd sorry to hear about, checking doors is the last thing I do before hitting the sack. Was just thinking today about "shotshell" cartridges as a 1st shell in my pistols, with numerous hollow-points to follow up with.

I've been readin a lot of bad juju about this piss poor quality of Taurus's lately, I don't ever plan to spend a nickel on one. I did however just pick up a Henry Classic .22 plinker at a pawn shop for cheap. Damm, that's a fun gun, I highly recommend one to anybody.

I won't buy any Taurus there junk I'm told the revolvers are OK but I won't bother

Saw a .25 with a silencer in Virginia last summer. Standing right next to it, it sounded like a cough. Couldn't convince the wife to cough up the cash.

Or just mount video cameras on your house/property within site and most would-be intruders will avoid it like the plague and go onto another home to invade; something easier and less risky. For $400 you can buy an indoor outdoor system with good resolution that will record continuously for close to a year (then it just re-records over the hard drive again). Also, keeps your teenagers in line when you are away.

In addition to the 38's, I like the Arlo security cameras.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the POS's don't need to worry about getting in, it's getting out where they will have a problem.
