Hi all,
I've got a 68 coronet I'm looking at starting up for the first time in the weekend, all thing goin well. But I've got a couple of fitment issues on the exhaust.

First is, the drivers side headers don't like up with the divot in the torsion bar cross member. I've got dougs 452's and the fit great, jut a little issue here. I'm guessing I'll need to wiggle the engine over to the passenger? Any tips on doing this?

Second is mount points for the exhaust hangers. I've got a summit 3" exhaust with the hangers included. The car didn't come with any exhaust, so I'm flying blind. If you see the pics, it looks like I have a hanger point on the passengers side but none for the drivers, this is behind the back seat.

Also what's the location for the tail pipe hangers?

Pics would be great

Thanks all.

My 452's are the same. I am going to cut the flange, except for upper and lower points, and pivot the flange so it angles towards the trans cross member. Then weld back the flange. Shouldn't need more than a couple of degrees.

Thanks for the reply mate, i really didn't want to cut and weld the manifolds, or the outlet flanges to be honest. So what I;ve don't is cut about an inch of the outlet flange that bolts to the headers, which allowed it to slip on further, then 'clearance' the pipe where it was touching the crossmember.

Came together pretty nicely. I'm not trying to eek out ever last HP, so a dimple in the exhaust doesn't stress me too much.

As for the mounting, I found a spot to put two u-nuts in near the ned of the chassis rails, and left the drives side without the mid way hanger for the moment. Seam really stable so that should do the job. If not, I might make a bracket and hand it from one of the pre-tapped holes.

Thought I'd update here so if anyone else has issues, they can read how I solved them.
