After 5 years a a rotisserie build of my 62 Fury convertible i am down to Exhaust. I have 383 with long tube headers with the collector reducers they taper in towards the center of the car slightly while the X pipe kit i bought from summit is square. What is the correct way to match up these two pipes in order to weld them. I am attaching a picture.

You need to cut half of the space out of each side so the diameter of both stays the same. When you cut pipe on a angle the measurement of the diameter "increases" , you want both the same for a good joint.

It won't make a bit of difference in performance any way you do it. The nicer the fit, the better it will look.
