F7 Green 1971 Charger R/T

It’s been a bit since I picked this up but I was digging around using it as a reference for a few things and discovered that it was a hidden headlight car with the proper wiring harness intact. It’s rough but I do have all the missing parts. It has some nice options but no fender tag or buildsheet nor numbers matching engine or transmission. It is registered in the R/T registry and there are pictures of it there from years ago. In the registry it’s listed as a 4 speed, F7 with bucket seats which all checks out despite it having a bench seat in it now. Other options include a white vinyl top, green interior ( interior panels and headliner are still present), hidden headlights, rear defogger and power windows, power disc brakes and A/C. It had the holes in the trunk lid for a gull wing and had one installed at some point so I installed one that I had and it looks pretty cool. It doesn’t have the dual exhaust valance though and the front valance that came with it was green but painted over blue and didn’t have holes for a chin spoiler. Obviously I can’t confirm all of that as factory but based on the condition that it’s been stripped rather than preserved, it seems doubtful someone went to the effort to modify those things.

She'll be a beaut when she's done... (if you're going to restore her).
 
Probably put a 440 and 4 speed in it that I have, put a new vinyl top on after I fix some underlying problem areas and just get it together and moving.
 
The car is one of only 332 440 4 speed Charger R/T cars built in 71. The N96 Ramcharger hood is a big deal as well. I have a similar car in brown.

Well it seems optimistic. A 440 magnum 4 speed with A/C? Dodge didn't make that car.
Most likely the 4 speed was swapped in.

These cars go through several owners, and they were popular since their birth, no telling what was done.
Could have been a parts car for a hi impact color or a 6bbl car that was found as a shell. So they bought and stripped this green one with an automatic and A/C.

Lots of guys won't buy a green car. Some love it,

Somebody's made up dream. The registries should be about what was factory built, not what someone made later.

Shall we start in on 440+6 Charger with A/C 1970 Daytonas? Or other dreams?
I'm waiting for these Suoerbird convertibles and T/A convertibles to be marketed as original at the January auctions. LOL

I'm a pursuit on all of my cars with the exception of a couple of toys I built for a desired purpose. As cool as this car is, it will never be able to be 100% correct. I go to extremes to make cars assembly line correct with cars that are deserving of it and would much rather have a true survivor car as a restored car but....I would much rather see this car get saved than parted out or crushed, if it is saved with non-original options or specs and is loved and enjoyed, I would call that a success. I didn't read it was going to be mis-represented when done and if it will be, I'm not in support of that.
 
All I'm saying is that registries should be focused on the correct history of the cars, not someone's homemade dream build.

Build what you like, but don't try to pass it off as original.
