Saw an ad posted on marketplace today for a box of 9 “junky old” carburetors for $20. Low and behold, I see a Competition Series Thermoquad. She ended up being a few miles from me, and sure enough, a complete 4847SA 1000cfm Thermoquad laying in one of the boxes, along with some Quadrajets, a 600 Holley, and a 390 Holley. I know I’ll never use the Thermoquad, as the 1000cfm isn’t a good street carb and I have over 20 6xxx series carbs, but I’ll make nice wall art. Point being, great deals are still out there!
