Fan clutch change after 3-9-73

On the 1973 340 RR's a part number change was made on 3/9/73 for the fan clutch.
It is #3462180 before this date and #3462182 after this.

Was this a switch from fluid(earlier) to thermal (later) or was it something else?

My RR was made late in December,72 and I am trying to put back on what it came with.

Fan and everything else stayed the same, just the clutch changed.

If manual or automatic without air, torque. With air, thermal. Any way that is what the FSM list.
Unfortunately it doesn't list part numbers for the clutch. Hope that helps. The manual I have was an early printing. Dam was looking at my 72 manual. 73 would be different.
