Fast ez efi 1.0....is not easy!!!!

Another update........

For the past few weeks the Challenger has had problems! The damn thing pings at WOT!! I've backed the timing down to 5 initial and total 30 @ 3000. I've moved it up to 10 initial with all in (25) @ 3000 and pings like SOB! Then I noticed that the fuel pressure is dropping @ WOT! A phone to FAST and they tell me the fuel pressure shouldn't drop,,,,,,,well no ****! Also told me to move the external pump closer to the tank......there is no spot any closer that is lower than the tank other than the frame rail and they say that is too far from the tank.

So my dad said screw it, ordered a new tank, intank pump and the drop down for the tank so the feed/return lines wont hit the bottom of the trunk.

I'll report back on this when I'm done getting it all installed and tested.

I went with an in-tank pump for my Atomicefi. Though the atomic Efi power module can drive an electric fuel pump I put in a relay circuit and just used the atomefi power module to trigger the relay.

Does the ez EFI have the ability to control timing?

Join the Ezefi forum if they have one.

I'm glad I'm not the only person having issues with FAST EZ.2 system, went to start my 67 Chevelle SS four weeks ago and hand held monitor ready "" error-error-error "" Comp told me to send back ECM unit hand monitor and cable from ECM to hand held, 3-weeks later after phone call after phone call found out ECM unit had bad circuit board in it and one week later new ECM show's up but to find out they never sent me by hand held controller or monitor and cable that controls everything, took two weeks to get them back from COMP , it was a total FU. If I only had read the reply's from different people that purchased this system I would have never got it, stuck with it now with a total of $ 2800.00 dollars which distributor is included and I had professional person install it. Can see my car at PARADISE ROAD ROD & CUSTOM or Goggle MARK SMITH'S CHEVELLE**Hoping to have car running in the next two days.

I just got my car running on a FAST EZ 2.0 system. It runs nicely now although I did have a fuel pressure issue that was not a FAST issue.

So far, so good. You do have to be very careful to hook everything up properly - I spent many hours at a my kitchen table drawing wiring diagrams, but they paid off when everything worked electrically.

I will say that so far I have been disappointed with FAST technical service. They have really just wanted to get me off the phone rather than truly help.

Intank pump showed up today. New tank should be here Tuesday, then it's time to get busy.

So lesson I just learned today: The FI system needs high pressure plumbing, and then they go an put a crappy hose inside the tank held on by a couple of band clamps. So the lesson if you have a short hose from your pump to the top of the tank Inside the tank): remember that hose is under pressure as well, and needs to be clamped tight. Mine wasn't and leaked at around 28 PSI. I had a heck of a time figuring out why...

Quality pumps and hardware are a definite necessity!!

I have the EZ 1:0 with the upgraded harness to use port injection with 8 x 42 lb injectors in my 496 Super Bee and have had issues as well.
Had to upgrade charging system to maintain 13.5 volts at idle.
Using the MSD 6A ignition with the billet distributor had to run the msd wires on the passenger side and the efi wires on the drivers side.
Used an isolating relay for the keyed power direct from the battery, computer main power direct from the battery.
In the process now to install a power distribution box with 12v feed from the heavy starter cable to power the fuel pump and msd to totally reduce or eliminate electrical noise from computer.I,m below the critical IRM count of 10,shooting for 0
I have noticed when making idle air -fuel adjustments you have to recalibrate the TPS and set the target for IAC reading around 20 at operating engine temperatures.
At present my air fuel at idle is 13:6, cruise at 14:7,wot @12.5,accel fuel @ 0 to +2

Just found out the EZ 1:0 does NOT like ethanol blended fuels and experienced a stalling problem going from idle to cruise,it,s pretty scary pulling into traffic and it craps on you.
Had to drain a full tank to add non ethanol fuel to correct stalling.
Over all I,m happy with the way the engine runs when in tune, but running into the odd glitch that I hope to have corrected.
