Nope, it's the other way around. E rears generally run about 2" wider than the 68-70 B cars but now sure how much different they are than the newer B's are....I thought E-body rears were too short for a B-body? If not true then I've messed up not getting the ones that were available.
For an engine that hasn't started in over ten years, there was a lot of concern that when I finally did get her fired up for real I would hear clanging or the garage would fill with oil smoke, but all is well. I added a quart of Murphy's Mystery Oil to the initial oil and that's hopefully clearing out a lot of the gunk that's in there. I am getting a very minor leak from the rear of the valve covers, but I suspect that'll stop once I change the oil to all 10W-40.
