I got back to the track on Oct the 20th but for some reason could not post on here since early Oct I have not been able to get this site to come up on my computer. It started working last night and I have no idea why or why it was not working as everything else did.

But now it does so this is good. I drove my 63 the 45 miles to the track on Oct 20th and met my brother and some friends as we all raced in a NSS class. I had a great time as I have not raced in almost 2 years and to race in competition and not go home a first round loser was alot of fun. The car ran great and never missed a beat. And I never lifted the hood while racing.
My best et 2 years ago was 10.76 and I matched it 3 times that day ! My first time run was a 10.81 as it spun a tad but it hooked good the rest of the day and ran 10.76 on the next time run and both rounds I raced in it also ran 10.76. Yes it ran 10.76 3 passes in a row ! Pretty consisdent for a street car with just SS springs. My first round competition was a 69 Roadrunner dailed 10.30 as I dailed 10.75. I hit an .088 lite to his .068 but I ran 10.76 on my 10.75 to his 10.34 on his 10.30 so I got him by a bit.
The second round I end up getting my brother in his 9 second Cuda. He runs 9.32 on his 9.29 and of course I run 10.76 on my 10.75 but he killed me on the lites to beat me as I hit a .078 lite but he got a nice .012 and I could not make up the difference at the other end. My brother races alot more then me so I figured he would cut better lites then me but I did ok for a guy a little rusty and not racing in almost 2 years. But I had a blast as nothing broke and the car ran great and my brother and I an our 2 buddies running in the NSS class all won in the first round.
Technically I ran a new best as I had run 10.765 and I ran a best of 10.763. One thing for sure it does like to run 10.76. This pic is a time run with a nice 65 Plymouth who is a buddy of mine. As always I raced thru the full exh on 92 pump. Ron

Those are some pretty sweet times. Congratulations! It sounds like it was a great day.

Here are a few of the other cars I went with. The blue 68 Cuda in my brothers as it has a 451 with Eddy RPM heads and has run 9.20's at 2600 lbs as its a tube frame. The 70 Dart goes about 2900 and has run 9.90's with a 499 and ported RPM heads. Our other friend not in the pic has a nice orange Duster that goes 3100 lbs and runs 10.30's on the eng with a 451 build. And of course my 3700 lb 63 that runs 10.70's. But mine is the only street car that was driven to the track and raced thru the full exh. They are all nice cars and run nice. Ron

Very cool! The car seems to be running well! Really like the comment on the video about how thanksgiving was going to be!!! Must have a history of a little brotherly rivalry!!:yes_no::yes_no:

That race against you and your brother was soooo cool Ron. I would take your car out of that bunch. Have a great Thanksgiving

How cool for two brothers to get to race each other with bad a$$ Mopars!

Welcome back Ron! Nice numbers!

Two questions: I'm trying to figure out, by your pics, where you're racing?

And, would you mind sharing your setup? Engine, trans, rear. (Specs.)

These are the #'s I would like to run, if I ever get mine together, and still be street friendly...

We were racing at Cecil County dragway in Md. What I can do is post this link to my car as it has my build. Go down to the December 2011 update for this eng build and if you want any other info just let me know here or shoot me an e-mail at 383man@comcast.net.

Thanks for all the kind replies. Ron

Ron; Sounds like a fun day @ the track, thanks for the update, car sounds like it works very well & is really consistent, need the driver to step up now...LOL... at-least you lost to your brother & another cool Mopar, He has a very nice Cuda' by the way...

way to go Ron that car running great and you know i love those 63s

You still run air shocks on the rear w/ SS springs? (Only ref I could find on that page)

Front shocks/torsion bars?

Trying to account for the roll rotation on launch...

Still using the 8 3/4, and if so, it holding up fine? I'm building something slightly less powerful but w/ a TKO and debating rearends right now.

Shift/cross the line RPM?

Sorry for all the questions, I like details...

No I took the air shocks off when I put the SS springs on. The torsion bars are the stock 383 bars that came in the car and I did put CE 90/10 shocks up front. The rear shocks are just the longer C-body shocks. Still using the 8-3/4 thats holding up so far but I only race a few times a year. As for shifting I shift between 5800 and 6000 usually and it traps about 6300. But I will be honest some passes I dont even look at the tach as I shift by ear alot as when it sounds right I shift but they are the #'s I see on the tach when I do look at it. I shifted second early one run just to see as I shifted it about 5500 but it still ran 10.76. Ron
