burgandy metallic, black cherry, ect. is actually good with me.......it's the bright, solid reds that I don't like

I have a dark (solid) red AMX with a dark red (maroon) interior....... Too much for me; I'm gonna paint it silver, or perhaps white
Dude - you are a body man! :poke:

Paint the AMX black on a perfect body (with the red interior). That is a killer combination!

Funny how the combination of car and color works. The original owner of the Demonstrator covered the spectrum with the three GTXs he owned. Blue with black interior '67, Red, black lower body, buckskin interior on the Demonstrator, Burgundy (999 '68 color) on his '70 GTX, black interior.

I don't care for red on '68 GTXs, prefer QQ1 blue, or the Avocado green your car has. The black lower body on the '69 breaks up that wall of red.

Back in 1985, I was running a PA back road in the truck, and spotted a '68 GTX for sale in a front yard. Stopped to look at it. Nice original paint, black car from North Carolina, with a burgundy interior. Never a saw a color combo I liked better on a '68. Priced at $3500. Baby Blue was fresh out of the paint shop and I was tapped out. Somebody got a great deal, haven't seen the car since.
