Floor pan fit (4 speed hump and cross member)

Hello, I put the new floor pan in my 70RR and already welded the 4 speed hump in place. I also mounted the 833 tailshaft with shifter to make sure everything lined up.
Everything lines up great and when i go under the car the to mark the pan to drill holes I see there's a gap between the front of the cross member and back of 4 speed hump.
I think it's normal but just want to make sure because i can't find any good pictures online? see photo's Thanks Joe!

The floor pan should cover the crossmember when looking from above but it also doesn't perfectly follow the contour of the crossmember.
