fuel cell mounted in truck, is it as simple as just swapping the 2 wires ?

full is empty and empty is full

That’s all it took on an old Corvette I own. I switched the wire in the plug at the gauge. On a Mopar probably easier at the sender.

Depending on the manufacturer and if the sending unit can be installed 180 degrees off it could be the sender is inverted and the float arm is therefore upside down and sending your gauge a reversed signal. I know this is hard to understand the way I typed it but it happened to me once.

Used a chevy style aftermarket gauge before in a GTX it read backwards too its all about the ohm range of the gauge.
  • 73 Ohms Empty; 10 Ohms Full
  • Compatible w/Most Ford and Chrysler Senders
  • Here are the specs for a GM style aftermarket gauge.
  • Description--2in. Fuel Level; 0 Empty /90 Full; GM

I don't see how swapping wires would change resistance!if it reads correct at half tank you could bend the float arm around so the float is on the other side of the rheostat, just a thought!

Hey at least it works.
