Hey everyone,

I was replacing my gas tank and had a few questions. I am trying to put everything back to factory specs.

Is the gas tank left in its natural state, or was it painted?
Were the fill and vent tubes also left natural?
Was the tank strap silver or black (semi or flat)?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The ones I have seen have been in the natural state. No paint on any of the parts.

My original 67 GTX and my current 67 GTX were undercoated. That was a very common practice back then. (I was 20 in 1967) Unless the cars have been restored and stripped, almost everything underneath will be black undercoated. Otherwise, most everything is natural. The torsion bars were always dipped and the drips hanging down are factory.

ya,the undercoat was an option, but most cars got it added on by the salesman.not sure weather the buyer knew or not.salesman did some shady stuff back then.
