Gas tank question

Nice job....Are those cinch clamps? I was in three auto parts stores today for other reasons and ask for some Oticher sp? clamps for some marine fuel hose. I've yet to find a guy who knows what they are. As Trump would say, "SAD".

They are called oetiker clamps... Can buy them online with the tool. Probably cheaper ones out there just wanted to point you in the right direction..

Do you have the big rubber grommet that goes on the tank and holds the neck? Also you need the L shape support that attaches to the neck with a clamp and screws to the body of the car. Did you also get the insulation pad that goes between the tank and the truck k panel?

I went through the same thing, couldn't find the correct sending unit until I found this one, unfortunately, I didn't write down where I got it from, and not sure where the receipt is for it so I wish I could tell you who has the correct one. I guess if you want to keep searching for a correct unit, go for it, not sure if there are any other differences on the one you have that will cause any issues using it, except for maybe installing the ground strap, it probably wont fit without the curved port.

i need to get the grommet also the clamp. I’m not sure we’re to buy the clamp. And I didn’t get the installation pad. Is it absolutely necessary?

Clamp should be easy to find, just need a pinch clamp for that diameter pipe. Most hardware stores should have it. I would recommend the tank pad to keep the tank stable and avoid the metal to metal contact.

Definitely use the insulation pad between the gas tank and the trunk floor otherwise lots of vibrations and rusting!
