The conversion on my 65 Belvedere:

I started here but did not like the transitions so, I went here:

And I incorporated a drive shaft loop:

I can see you did not go the massaging way... but looks good! The conversion on my 65 Belvedere:

Nice job Mike. No driveshaft will ever get past that loop. Why did you choose to reinforce the front rockers with boxes but not the rear? I usually see both done if any are done. The conversion on my 65 Belvedere:

I really did not have a reason for that but, having the springs moved inboard takes some of the stress off that area. The front boxes were an afterthought and easy to fabricate.Nice job Mike. Oh yes there is. I have a GV OD in my 66 Belvedere SW too. I blew out the tunnel on that install but, it doesn't look nearly as nice.I can see you did not go the massaging way... but looks good!
Do you know if there is less space in the tunnel in -65 than -66?
I farmed out the tunnel forming to a sheet metal fab shop I use. If I recall correctly, I specified a 9 1/4" diameter. I used 18 gauge but, it proved easy to dent, so be careful. I extended the front to cover the rear of the trans hump and welded in a filler piece on the bottom (sort of a horseshoe shape) to box in the gap. That way the torsion bar cross member was left intact.Mike, I need to redo my tunnel like yours. Had already planned that when I get to that area. I originally went after it using a hammer faced bit on my air chisel and just massaged the tunnel around. It clears but looks like poo and there are a couple of tears.
