I want to get Rid of My A/C .. So iam goin to need to reroute my V belts.. My question is....Is it just as easy as re routing my Belts.. Or is it not that simple I read on another message board That i would need to change the water pump as well but it kept going back and forth on wealther that was true so i dont really know.. I also have power stearing and up graded the alternartor which has the duel pully Which I dont think is a big deal if only one belt is on going forward
but again im guessing

I took mine off and you will need a new crank pulley and new alt mounting bracket as well,I still have dual pulley on the alt but 1 belt. The A/C has a idler assembly that you will need to remove.i bought a new set of water pump housing bolts as some were now to long, you can get the set from Mega Parts.I bought my pulley and the alt brackets from a source on EBay that I dont remember but just did a search for big block mopar alt bracket and pulleys.I also got rid of the flex fan PO had on there and went back to the factory 7 blade fan with a OEM clutch, got them from Tonys Mopar Parts. you will also need a non-AC water pump as well...pumps are different

also needed is the correct non-AC water pump pulley

my gtx had ac which i removed. instead of changing all the componets, i took a idler pulley and bracket, which came off my 1968 amc 343 v8. with a little grinding on the bracket it fit perfect in the top bolt hole where ac mounted. measured for new belt. works perfectly. this way all pulleys will line up. send me a pm and i will send pics. by the way the bracket was part of an add on ac unit from sears.
